Digging Up a 17-Year-Old TIPE: SAW Touchscreens, Finite Differences, and a Half-Lost Simulation
My prépa TIPE in 2009 was about surface acoustic wave touchscreens, with two simulators (a CUDA version on the GPU and a C plus SDL plus OpenMP version on the CPU) and a real experimental rig that classified 9 positions out of 9 with a centimetre of precision. In April 2026 I dug through a NAS backup of my old XPS desktop. The CUDA half is gone. The CPU half survived. This post is the post-mortem: what the project was, what was built, what was lost, and what it took to bring the surviving half back to life on SDL 2.

Building KataMarrant, Part 1: A Black Belt, 40 Throws, and the Gap I Did Not Want to Hide
Why I built a Tauri 2 app to drill the 40 Gokyo no Waza on my phone every morning. I did judo as a kid, stopped for twenty years, restarted in a club in Canada, and discovered that my body remembered the throws while my mouth had forgotten the names. So I shipped a quiz I would actually open daily, the way I have been shipping software for ten years.

Why We Have Museums for Optical Illusions but Not for Touch
Touch is one of our earliest and most intimate senses, yet we know remarkably little about its quirks. Optical illusions have entire museums. Haptic illusions have a GitHub repo and a 3D printer.
